How we write our questions

Our questions are original. We do not have, and nobody outside the DMV has, the questions used on the official test. Any site that promises "the real test questions" is guessing.

Source. Every rule-based question is written from the California Vehicle Code, the law itself, and each one shows the section it comes from. Road sign images come from the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). We use the official California Driver's Handbook only to check that we cover the same topics.

Checking. Each answer is checked twice: once against the current text of the cited law, and again in a separate review pass. Numbers such as speeds, distances, ages and time limits are checked against the statute itself. Last full check: October 2026.
